LMR Plastics earns recognition as a John Deere “Partner-level Supplier ” for 11th Consecutive Year

Greeneville, Tennessee – LMR Plastics has earned recognition as a Partner-level supplier for 2015 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating.  The Greeneville-based company was selected for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement for the 11th consecutive year.

LMR Plastics is a supplier of plastic injection molded components to John Deere’s operations in Greeneville, Tennessee; Horicon, Wisconsin; Augusta, Georgia; and Fuqua-Varina, North Carolina.

Suppliers who participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.

LMR Plastics manufactures and supplies custom plastic injection molded products to various size companies in a variety of industries from its location in Greeneville, Tennessee. With its expertise in plastic injection molding, LMR Plastics has established customers in power lawn care products, filtration products, industrial controls, automotive, and telecommunications. In addition to injection molding, LMR Plastics offers value-add operations including assembly, plastic welding (hot plate, ultrasonic, spin), hot stamping, pad printing and heat staking.

A privately owned company, LMR Plastics was founded in 1973, and has operated under the current family ownership of the Leonard family since September 1996.

LMR Plastics Adds New 1150 Ton Molding Press 

Greeneville, Tennessee – LMR Plastics has recently completed the purchase and installation of a new Toshiba all-electric molding machine coupled with a Star three-axis robot.  The new press is an 1150 Ton which affords LMR the additional capacity to supply current and potential clients’ needs.

LMR Plastics Adds Staff Members

Greeneville, Tennessee – LMR Plastics has recently added two new staff members in roles which will directly impact the services which are provided to our client base.

Jay Morris has joined the LMR Plastics Team as our Tooling/Mold Engineer.  Jay holds an Engineering Degree from Central Carolina University as well as a Business Degree from the University of South Carolina, and comes to us with over ten years of experience in design engineering including complex injection mold design.  Jay has also spent several years in manufacturing in the commodity management and manufacturing engineering roles.  “This exposure, combined with his formal educational background”, Mike Letts, Director of Business Development, comments, “provides Jay with a unique blend of technical and practical experience which he is bringing to our team.”  Read more

LMR Plastics earns recognition as a John Deere Hall of Fame Supplier for Ten Consecutive Years as a “Partner-level Supplier ”

Greeneville, Tennessee – LMR Plastics has earned recognition as a 2014 recipient of the Partner-level Supplier award and was inducted into the Supplier Hall of Fame for ten consecutive years as a Partner-level supplier in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating. The Greeneville-based company was selected for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. Company employees accepted the recognition during formal ceremonies held on March 3, 2015 in Moline, Illinois. Read more

LMR Plastics Adds Two New Molding Presses

Greeneville, Tennessee – LMR Plastics has recently completed the purchase and installation of two Toshiba all-electric molding machines coupled with Star three-axis robots.   The new presses are a 390 ton as well as a 610 ton, affording LMR the additional capacity to supply current and potential clients’ needs.

“In addition to the increased capacity provided,” Richie Trantham, LMR Plastics’ Production Manager states, “these state-of-the-art units will allow reduced energy consumption, and improved machine repeatability and reliability all while yielding improved operating efficiencies.”  Read more

Leonard Manufacturing Resources Featured in Greeneville Sun’s Salute to Industry

Greeneville, Tennessee – The Greeneville Sun recently featured Leonard Manufacturing Resources in their annual “Salute to Industry” publication.

Leonard Manufacturing Resources is made up of three primary organizations employing a team of 220 people.  These organizations are the Molded Plastics Division (LMR Plastics), the Contract Manufacturing Division (BTL Industries) and the Manufacturing Support Division (Leonard Associates Manufacturing).
